Resident in Counseling
Elena Perez

Hello, my name is Elena Perez and I am an intern here at Counseling and Forensic Services. I obtained my Bachelor of Social Work in 2019, and am currently in the process of receiving my Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. I am passionate about empowering clients to see and believe in their ability to make the necessary changes to improve their well-being. I aim to create a safe, inclusive, judgement-free space for clients to feel comfortable sharing and expressing their thoughts and feelings. Everyone is navigating the complexities of life as best they can, and I am here to provide you the support and skills needed to help navigate any of the challenges and struggles you may be seeking therapy for. There can be a multitude of factors at play that contribute to the problems you may be experiencing, and I care to understand them with a completely open-minded, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approach. I utilize person-centered therapy, as I believe in self determination and working collaboratively with clients to help them establish and achieve their therapy goals.
