CSOTP, LMFT, Sex Offender Groups & Substance Abuse Specialist
Hi my name is Yovanis Lasso; I am a counselor that specializes in Marriage and Family therapy. Also, I am a Certified to Practice as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider. I am a certified Substance abuse counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Behavioral Interpreter trained (IBH.) I am currently working on my supervision to obtain a License as Marriage and Family Therapist; I have over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. For the last 17 years, I have been working as a Psychologist Associate with the Virginia Department of Corrections. Previously, I have worked as a social worker for a Foster Care Agency, and as a therapist for Catholic charities in Pennsylvania. I have extensive experience working with adults, children, adolescents, families, couples therapy, and individual sessions as well as groups.
Therapy models utilized include; Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy and others. With empathy and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth.
