Tamia Johnson recently joined Counseling and Forensic Services as a Master’s Level Counseling Intern, and is currently earning a Master degree in Forensic Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Forensic Studies with a minor in Psychology.
In Tamia’s educational journey, she has learned that strength can often come from within, and she wants to help you realize what your inner strength may be. Thus, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within the counseling sessions to gain a new perspective on your potential and how to use it. Tamia enjoys connecting with her clients and helping them achieve their goals.
Tamia has prior experience as a Behavioral Health Technician for an adult detox facility. Currently, she works with adult clients that have a variety of mental health concerns. Her areas of interest are sex offenders, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and trauma within the adult and teen population.
After she graduates with her Master’s degree, Tamia will complete her residency with Counseling and Forensics Services, and obtain her certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
