I provide a warm, safe, and supportive environment in which my clients can explore the issues and challenges they face. I strongly believe in the power of the therapeutic partnership to help uncover the strengths and resources we all possess in order to bring about the changes we desire in our lives. I feel privileged to be able to offer my assistance to others on this shared journey and commend you for reaching out for help to make things better. I have always been a “helper” and over the years have worked in a variety of capacities such as foster care, community mental, hospital social worker, etc. I am a therapist with many years of experience, and have worked with clients of all ages in individual and family therapy struggling with a variety of issues. I believe that each role has helped me to better understand the issues my clients face in their own lives.
I have a bachelor’s degree from Boston University and hold a Master’s degree in social work, as well as certified in working with sex offenders, trauma and a registered play therapist. My therapeutic orientation is eclectic — meaning I use a variety of approaches — which allows me to respond in the most effective way to your needs. Approaches include cognitive behavioral, family systems, and strength-based therapies, etc. I help clients deal with depression, anxiety, loss, anger, relationship issues, and job stress, to name a few. I believe in using humor, spirituality, relaxation training, and mindfulness techniques to help my clients as we work together. I work with each client to develop a partnership designed to set achievable goals which will enhance their quality of life.
