Kayla Flanzenbaum is a Resident in Counseling and a CSOTP Trainee. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019, and Master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Forensic and Legal Psychology from Marymount University in 2023. Kayla is working towards her licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. Kayla has experience working with adults and adolescents with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, self-harm, mood and personality disorders, trauma, addiction/recovery, life stressors, and other related issues. Kayla has experience working alongside treatment teams in jails, hospitals, probation, and in private practice.
She enjoys working with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds and truly believes that every person who wants to try counseling should have the opportunity to do so. Her goal as a therapist is to unconditionally support each and every client in managing their concerns and helping them achieve their goals through psychotherapy. Kayla utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing techniques. Kayla believes that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and will tailor her approach to fit each of her clients needs.
