Kayla Canipe

Kayla Canipe is a Resident in Counseling and is dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and achieve their full potential. With a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Arts in Forensic and Legal Psychology from Marymount University, Kayla brings a unique and comprehensive perspective to her practice.

Kayla provides support for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and difficulties adjusting to significant life events such as divorce or phase-of-life changes. Kayla works effectively with teenagers, pre-teens, young adults, and adults, addressing a wide range of mood disorders through individual therapy. She also is a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP) and specializes in sex offender treatment, addressing sexual behavior problems, and managing risky sexual behaviors in both teenagers and adults.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in a person-centered philosophy, incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Adlerian theory, and Motivational Interviewing. Kayla believes in creating a safe and supportive space where clients can engage in difficult conversations, explore their past, and address current stressors. Her goal is to empower clients to develop effective coping skills, increase distress tolerance, and enhance their problem-solving abilities, ultimately helping them become the best versions of themselves.

Kayla is located in Woodbridge, VA, and offers both in-person and telehealth sessions, providing flexible and accessible care to her clients.
