My name is Bethany Selvage, an MSW intern at the University of Kentucky, with an expected graduation date of December 2023. I graduated with my Bachelor of Social Work from George Mason University in 2020. In addition to earning hours for clinical licensure, I also work full-time as a Social Services Specialist II in Fairfax, Virginia.
As an aspiring clinical social worker, I am determined to help my clients overcome their trauma, build resilience, and persevere. My goal as a pre-licensed professional is to provide a safe environment and motivate clients for change and resolution. When we come to therapy, we understand that there is something not quite right. Therapy is not a quick fix and it will require hard work to accomplish a better overall sense of self. My ideal client is willing to practice self-reflection to understand who they are and why they perform certain actions.
